Studied Photography, Graphic Design, Printmaking and Typography at New York City Community College, Parson’s School of Design, & the Pratt Graphics Center in New York. Art director for New American Library and Penguin USA in New York directing photographers, illustrators, stylists and freelance designers on 300 book covers a year.
Freelance : designing book covers and interiors, posters, packaging & promo material for Random House, Workman, Warner, Dell, Penguin, Berkley, Kodansha, Carol, Ballantine, Crown and McMillan. Featured work in annual design competitions by Print, Creativity, & the AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts). Supplied photography, illustration, and type designs.
Studied monotype printmaking with Ryna Segal at the Pratt Graphics Center in Manhattan, New York.
1985 “Glider”, a monotype, was selected for the Pratt-Silvermine International Print Exhibition by William Rubin, the Metropolitan Museum’s director for Modern Art.
1987 became a member of Associated American Artists in New York where my monotypes were included in numerous group shows. Some of my monotypes are also in the Zimmerli Museum, part of the Eisenberg Collection, at Rutgers University in New Jersey.
1989 four monotypes were selected by Silvermine for the International Prints Exhibit in Connecticut. In June of 1990 became a member of the Wetherholt Gallery in Washington, D.C.
1995 Solo show of photography, monotypes, and collage at L’Acajou, a french restaurant in New York City.
1996 moved to Paris, France.
1998 solo show of gouache paintings at The Maldoror, an anarchist restaurant in Paris. Their hours are 8pm-2am and they’re close to metro station Oberkampf.
Currently living and working in the south of France.
